  Encouraged by some recent Trip Advisor reviews and desperate for lunch we tried this inn. Although the staff were welcoming, sadly it lived up to appearances . The ploughman's cheese was straight from the fridge, the bread a catering par bake baguette, the open prawn sandwich sat on a toasted but soggy half bap, the prawns recently defrosted, wet and tastless. Overall reminded me of a Weatherspoons in which l'm not an infrequent visitor but have had better food. Beer was OK though.

  Great little pub with brilliant bar staff and welcoming locals. Made our fantastic break in North Devon even more special. And dog friendly, its our miniature dachshund's new favourite pub!
